Hand-dryer v paper towel v linen towel
So which is best ?
Hand dryer - uses elctricity right in front of you
Paper Towel - how much is used in those great big induction heaters that the paper mill uses ?
Linen towel - textile production, washing machines, tumble drying .....
My visits to the bathroom in the pub have become decision making conundrums. And after the fourth pint of stout ....
misc
| decision
| dryer
| heater
| induction
| paper

Ahh, I have a similar quandary. Here in the US we have an environmentally aware food chain that offers both pare and plastic bags. In moments of indecision, I sometimes ask the checkout clerk which one she prefers, all the while wondering if those in line behind me are passing judgement. I suspect the power consumption issues are similar on these two choices.
The answer offered by this grocer is to provide reusable natural fiber woven bags (for a price). -doug

Good answer grocer. Only problem is that I have bought many of these reusable bags; and they always seem to be in my car when I need them at the checkout ....
So, with Ireland having led the way some years ago by slapping a government tax on plastic bags, and me uwiliing to pay 15c for each plastic bag, I now end up carrying my basketful of groceries in my arms to the car. The best environmental option no doubt.
PS Now that I'm feeling good about myself, please don't get at me about using the car every time I go to the local shop ....
