Energy losses through over sized room air-conditioners...?
You'll find that in Nigeria, the weather is usually warm or hot. But when you walk into an office or home and sit for a while, it is actually very cold. I live in a society where an air-conditioner is installed in a bedroom only for the home owners to cover themselves with a blanket or sheet for a bit of warmth again. It's a little confusing I think. You are in an office and its to cold to sit without your suit on. Sounds familiar to you if you are African and especially a Nigerian.
There is a lot of energy wasted through wrong sizing air-conditioners in homes, hotels , shops and offices etc. I have seen a 2HP air-conditioner used in an ATM room as small as six [6] square metres. No jokes...I'm serious. Most rooms using a 2HP air-conditioner could switch to a 1HP unit. This will require a government led campaign. The DUTY on units above 1HP should be 200 percent. A drop to 1HP units will certainly save the owner about 40 percent in bills and the overall power consumption in the country Availability of Power or Per Capita Consumption could increase by almost 40 percent.

This is true not only for African countries. You can see the same going in USA offices or shops!
In China, when you bought a air-conditioner, the sales will tell you 1HP or 2HP air-conditioner will be bought according to your room size.
