"Carbon Disclosure Project" to be more transparent.

Claudio Puliti on November 15, 2007 | 753 Views

I think it should be mentioned, as an important tool to avoid climate change, the Carbon Disclosure Project (www.cdproject.net. In its last revision, the 5th, we have well over 300 investors participating, accounting for some $41 trillion in asset, which is roughly three times plus the GDP of the United States. The project is oriented to give the financial operators, information about how company emitting CO2, take care of this problem inside its own processes and at global level.

As Mr Bill Clinton says in his opening speech: "It is unrealistic to believe that the wealthy countries of the world will reduce their emissions if they believe it will have a significant negative impact on economic growth and completely unrealistic to believe that China, India, Vietnam and the other emerging economies are going to do it if they think it will have any negative impact on economic growth. Nevertheless, the evidence of this decade is clear that if we organize properly, addressing the problem of climate change will provide for wealthy countries the biggest economic boom since we mobilized for World War II. And for developing countries, a way to develop even more rapidly in a way that will spread the benefits of economic growth more widely than they would otherwise be spread through the ordinary expansion of trade and investment".

These words sounds quite optimistic, but I think that are true.
