The Fuel of Coal-Combined Biomass
Iwakura co. which is a member of Japan Wood pellet Association has addressed to develop Fuel of Coal-Combined Biomass, and they obtained cooperation from Hokkaido Electric Power co.

In past days coal and wood biomass for fuel of heat power plant are not combined as a solid but only mixed, so the best mixed ratio of wood biomass for coal was only 3% for effective combustion. This CCB type is expected to be mixed max 25% wood biomass (in weight).There are many factories or power facilities which use coal boiler plants. If this CCB type fuel is effective for coal boiler plant, we can not only reduce the volume of fossil coal but also be expected to vitalize regional forestry industries.
