 The US company Ascent Solar Technologies has developed extra thin solar cells ( 0.003 mm ) which can be incorporated in flexible plastic materials. So manufactured they can simply be packaged in rolls making their transportation and installation much more easy than the conventional cells. Those cells can be directly integrated in construction and roofing elements. The production is due to start in 2008 ( see www.ascentsolar.com
