Electrical safety in the home
On behalf of the European Copper Institute [ECI] we have been seeking to improve electrical safety in the home. Activity to date comprises training seminars directed at service providers, local government initiatives, involvement of consumer organisations' promotion of the benefits of periodic inspection and our own EU wide research projects. We seek to gather information about the state of domestic electrical safety in existing homes [in many cases new homes are well covered by statute] and about any initiatives that have been undertaken at local / national levels that promote the need for periodic inspection or even subsidise home users’ ordering an inspection as well as contributing towards any electrical system renovation that may be required. The information, papers and commentaries that ECI has so far collected can be found on http://www.leonardo-energy.org/drupal/search/node/electrical+safety. This is just of the many topics covered by the Leonardo Energy site - The Global Community for Sustainable Energy Professionals.
