I am an inventor of low power devices for mechanical applications, including locks and valves.  Using piezo technology  we can cut the power consumption for electronic door locks by 95%.

I am personally interested in the truth about recycling and energy saving devices in terms of their total lifetime costs and their relative merits.  It is very hard to find dispassionate data about such matters.  When I do find it out, I will be building an ecologically sound home.
