I'm concerned with the testing of household appliances for performance (how well they clean, cook, cool etc.) and energy consumption. Modelling energy and water consumption of these appliances. Very interested in "Dynamic Demand" or demand side management (DSM) - I have carried out two research projects in this area and am looking for more involvment. Not only can DSM reduce electric grid peak load, it can also facilitate integration of alternative (wind, wave, tidal etc.) energy sources.
